Muscat/Oman – 04 October 2013 – In the isolated mountainous region of Oman the Alila Hotels & Resorts will open during 2014 a high class luxury resort called the Alila Jabal Akhdar. Far from tourist tracks, approximately 150 kilometers far from the capital Muscat, the hotel team forms itself for the last construction phase of the hotel on the „Green Mountain“.

The hotel’s new General Manager is the Dutchman Jork Bosselaar, who is a real „Brand Ambassador“ and who has already been General Manager since 2006 at the Alila Manggus and two years later at the Alila Ubud. He knows the Middle East market. Furthermore the Australian Demeiter Vaubell will assist the team as Sales and Marketing Director. Demeiter also has years of hotel experience in the Middle East and she lives in Dubai.

About 2,000 meter above sea level the construction work progresses in harmony with the flora and fauna, which is Alila’s ‘Sustainable Luxury’ philosophy. In the so far untouched Hajar mountains (up to recently military prohibited zone) near to a deep canyon with a dramatic view on the mountain massif, 78 suites, 6 large loft suites and two luxury Royal Omani villas will arise with due regards to ecological standards so that the hotel will fit into the scenic and cultural surrounding. The interior design combines and minimalist design with ethical traditional inputs and modern architecture with the luxury of full privacy. A restaurant, a bar, a heated indoor and outdoor pool as well as the highest located spa of the world will complement the offer in a fairytale surrounding, which will open in the first quarter of 2014.
