Dubai wins Expo 2020 – Number of hotels will double in next seven years

Dubai, UAE – 27 November 2014 – Dubai was awarded the right to host the Expo 2020 event following a successful campaign that culminated in victory in Paris on Wednesday night. For the first time a world exposition – which is more than a century hold and has been responible of multiple important inventions – is being held in the Middle East.

For tourism and trade Expo 2020 an enourmous boost is to be expexted. The number of hotels in Dubai will double until 2020. Currently over 82,000 hotel rooms and apartments are available. According to tophotelprojects.com, more than 60 new upscale and luxury hotel projects with more than 29,000 rooms are under construction. Hotel investors will focus on four star and three star rated hotel projects – midscale segment – in the next, said hotel markets analysts of tophotelprojects.com.
